Opal

Opal is not a crystal in the strict sense: there is no repeating lattice, just packed spheres of silica, and it is the way light bounces between them that gives precious opal its flash.

The hyalite I carry is the showpiece. In daylight it looks like clear glaze poured over rock. Put a UV torch on it and it lights up a startling green.

Where mine come from. Ethiopia for the flashy ones, Mexico and Hungary for hyalite.

What people reach for it for. Opal is traditionally linked with imagination and with hope.

Forms I carry. cluster, tumbled, point.

I also send opal off for aura treatment. Read the aura guide to see what that does to it.
