Quartz

Quartz is the workhorse. Clear quartz, smoky quartz, spirit quartz, lemurian points, girasol, lodolite with garden-like inclusions: they are all the same mineral wearing different clothes.

It is also the stone that takes aura treatment best, because the surface is hard and even, so the metal bonds cleanly and the colour comes out bright. If you have seen a rainbow aura cluster, you have almost certainly seen quartz.

Where mine come from. Brazil, Madagascar, and Arkansas, depending on the form.

What people reach for it for. Clear quartz is the all-purpose one in tradition, which is probably why it turns up in every collection.
